Allison Kelly, Expression Writer, Expresses Excitement About "The Great Backyard Bird Count," and Shares How To Participate
Allison Shares:
"Tomorrow the Great Backyard Bird Count begins! My Bird Buddy camera is charged, my regular camera battery is charged, and my brother Brian filled up the feeders for me. The Bird Count goes for four days - 2/16-2/19 - but I think the best time will be Saturday morning after the next snowfall.
I'll try to take a picture of every species of bird I see. I already know it will be juncos, white-throated sparrows, red-bellied woodpeckers, song sparrows, nuthatches, chickadees, cardinals, tufted titmice, house finches, downy woodpeckers, mourning doves, and maybe a Carolina Wren, goldfinch or bluejay. Would like to see a Northern Flicker. Maybe the Mockingbird will visit the heated birdbath.
I got this photo of a Tufted Titmouse the other day - a rare capture because they move so fast."
