Celebrate Winter: New Hanover Township Invites You to the Frosty Frolic
by Kathryn Van Druff
GILBERTSVILLE, PA - Get ready to sip, savor, and dance the night away at the Frosty Frolic, an exciting 21+ community event featuring a vibrant mix of craft beer and winter wine tastings, a signature red sangria, and delectable food stations—all while benefiting our community! The Frosty Frolic takes place Saturday, February 1, 2025 at LaMassaria at Bella Vista Golf Course (2901 Fagleysville Road, Gilbertsville, PA 19525).
A thoughtful menu satisfies all palates. A cheese, fruit, and vegetable display with assorted dips and mustards and a refreshing salad station with a mix of fresh greens will start the evening off on a healthy note. The self-serve pasta station features penne and rigatoni, paired with a selection of sauces such as marinara, creamy alfredo, fragrant pesto, and olive oil with garlic. Guests may further enhance their plates with sautéed vegetables, meatballs, or freshly baked garlic knots for the perfect bite.
Savory entrees this evening include Chicken Marsala and Herb Crusted Tilapia with Lobster Cream Sauce, accompanied by green beans. A display of decadent desserts awaits for a sweet finale.
Sly Fox Brewing Company, 2SP, and Sunset Hill Brewing Co will be serving up local craft beer tastings from 6 to 7 p.m. and the cash bar opens at 6 p.m. and goes all night. A selection of winter wines offers something for everyone, and a signature red sangria (available for purchase) brings a fun and fruity twist, complementing the evening's flavors with its vibrant mix of fresh fruits and smooth, bold wine.
In addition to the food tastings and tasty libations, guests may enjoy taking photos at the balloon-adorned selfie station. A selection of raffle baskets and a 50/50 raffle bring a winning vibe to the evening’s festivities.
To set the mood for an exciting and lively evening, John Cicala from Silver Sound will keep the energy high with a dynamic mix of tunes, playing hits from all eras and taking song requests throughout the night.
New Hanover Township hosted a Spring Fling event last year to bring the community together and raise funding for recreation and upcoming events. This year, the board decided on the Frosty Frolic to keep your social calendar exciting despite the chilly temperatures. Event organizers are also seeking sponsors for raffle baskets. Anyone wishing to donate something may reach out to spettine16@comcast.net.
Proceeds from the Frosty Frolic will benefit the New Hanover Township Parks & Recreation efforts throughout the year. Registration is $40 per person and includes mouthwatering food stations, local craft beer tasting, and a selection of winter wines. “This event is the perfect opportunity to support our community while enjoying a fun-filled evening with friends and meeting new faces,” says Suzanne Pettine, New Hanover Township Recreation Committee member. “Last year’s Spring Fling was a blast—from snapping photos at the selfie station to dancing the night away—and I’m confident the Frosty Frolic will bring just as much excitement and joy. Don’t miss out on this incredible night of connection, laughter, and great memories!”
