Talkin’ about glory days is a certainty for any high school class reunion - and it will be no exception for the 50threunion of the Boyertown Class 1975. Alumni only have to think about the highlights from their last year of high school…the end of the Vietnam War…Hank Aaron’s final home run…the first woman to summit Mount Everest…the Isley Brother’s “Fight for Power” receiving Billboard’s Song of the Year (that’s for you, Rowan!) … the dissolution of the Beatles…and the premiere of the movie Jaws…to realize that they lived an incredible year.
WOW!
Or maybe the class’s memories will be a more high school centered, albeit a little tamer, like remembering their sports victories…their class musical Brigadoon…the assault on Mount Airy Lodge…the Cub Fashion Show… and their very own streaker.
WOW indeed!
The 1975 class reunion committee has been meeting for well over a year, brainstorming and addressing all the endless details that go into making a seamless and successful celebration. The committee’s hope is that all attendees have a fun night, full of reminiscing while enjoying a delicious dinner and a chance to dance. Old classmates (familial not chronological!) will have a chance to revisit their past, dream about their youthful selves, while bringing everyone up to speed on what is currently happening in their lives….and of course, miss friends that were not able to be there. All this while doing the Bump!
Cheers to 50 years!
[Editor's Note: The Boyertown Area Expression was lucky to land an invitation to the Class of '75's special event. Expression writer Julie Cordingley will be on site, partying with the class, and she will report back to us about where life has taken these classmates and what it's like to celebrate the BIG 50. Thanks, Rowan and planning committee!]
