One of my favorite artistic mediums is collage. I'm fascinated by the juxtaposition of color, pattern, texture, and design. There's so much to see in a collage, and artist Deborah Meehan is masterful in the medium. I was eager to learn from her during our conversation for a "B Inspired" episode.
"Graphic design and fine art come together in a collage," she explained. "Years of working in advertising instilled in me a love of layout, design, typography and the printed page. Now I make pictures with bits of printed pages as well as scraps of all sorts of other found paper.," she continues. "And the birds add life and personality to the collages. Their simple shapes and almost endless variety makes them perfect for this medium."
