* “Forest Secrets” channels the transformation myth of the Mesoamerican goddesses: Mayan Ix Chel (Chak Chel), Aztec Toci and Olmec Jaguar Women. They are rulers of the Night Sun, possessing power, resilience, courage, leadership and strength. The transformed Shamanic werejaguar is adept at communication between spiritual realms. Jaguar women also bring about fertility and herald the coming of regeneration and new growth. As a woman of fifty-five, just now coming into my greatest life cycle, I feel a strong kinship to Jaguar goddesses as they share their knowledge. I utilized oil based paints, translucent fabrics and traditional oil mediums/adhesives on canvas to create a blooming dream forest where Ix Chel commune and draw in their powers. www.LauralynnWhite.net ~Lauralynne White
