Annual Goschenhoppen Folk Festival 2022: Better Than Ever

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID concerns, the 2022 Goschenhoppen Folk Festival--in its 54th year--held at the Henry Antes Planation in Perkiomenville,PA, attracted over 8,000 visitors recently according to long-time volunteer and historian Bob Wood. We celebrate the return to this  popular event that offers an authentic look at PA German lifestyle of the 18th and 19th centuries thanks to the many dedicated volunteers and craftsmen in period dress.

"There's nothing else like it," offers Wood. "Those who attend are deliberate in their quest to learn about life 'back in the day'; the vanishing secrets of their arts--ropemaker, wheelwright, tinsmith, blacksmith, cooper, gardener, seamstress, needleworker, hearth cooks, for example; and the tenor of life without the technology that today's world finds necessary."
