It’s been a busy spring for Richard A. Zuber Realty’s agents and staff in their activities connecting with the community. During March and April, the agency held a coloring contest for children ages 6-12 and offered spring-themed prizes. Building a Better Boyertown’s (BaBB) mascot Bearianne served as juror for the contest.

BaBB's mascot Bearianne selected the winners for the coloring contest; Jody Dolansky, coordinator of the Community Outreach Committee, shows off a winning submission.

Colin Morgan, age 6, is the 1st Place winner who "lit up like a Christmas tree" when he received his prize according to Diane Evanco, Zuber Realty's administrative assistant. He looks forward to the next coloring contest.

In April, during Building a Better Boyertown’s (BaBB) “Coming Out of Hibernation Festival, the agency joined thousands along East Philadelphia Avenue to celebrate the coming of spring. Agents greeted community members with information about upcoming events, a chance to spin the wheel with agent Lee Heffner, and win a prize.

In May, Zuber agents participated in the “Just Farm Kids Tractor Show,” held at Padre Pio. The event featured hay rides, live music, basket raffles, pedal tractor pulls, a petting zoo, tractor dyno, a PA maple syrup demo, food and drink. Zuber Realty provided some fun during the day and after.

Colten, 20-month-old son of Jessica Chud, stopped in to receive his prize awards from the tractor show from agent Lee Heffner.

Flowers were given out for Mother’s Day. At the agency’s corporate office in Boyertown, folks stopped by to pick up a flower for mom; others were handed to moms at the stop light in front of the office. Still others were available to diners at several eateries in the Royersford area.

Agent Betsy Bellantoni and Mark Roberts of TriCounty+ Appraisal present gifts of flowers to celebrate Mother's Day.

Richard Zuber, agency owner, who also serves as president and long-time coach with the Pine Forge Athletic Association, notes that honoring motherhood has always been important to him: “I never held practice on Mother’s Day,” he recalls, “and I always insisted that the boys do something special for their mothers.”

In June, Berks-Mont Business Association (BMBA) hosted a “Garden Party” wine walk; and, as usual, Zuber Realty hosted members of the community for tasty snacks by agents Kathy Morcrette, Betsy Bellantoni, and staff member Diane Evanco with agent Lee Heffner serving the wine.

Yum! Zuber Realty is THE place to visit during BMBA's wine walks!

Bellantoni noted, “People make it a point to come to our office for our treats and have told us so. Many people asked for the "hamburger" cookies that Diane makes; we told them we would make them for the fall wine walk.”

At BMBA's Philadelphia Avenue Street Fair, Zuber agents handed out hundreds of t-shirts.

Families helped promote the agency's annual Veterans' Food Drive that runs throughout the month of June.

Throughout June, Zuber Realty collects food for veterans. On June 15, the Zuber bus will be parked at Boyertown’s Redner’s Market, 116 County Line Road, between 8 a.m and 2 p.m. being filled with food donations for the agency’s annual Veterans' Food Drive.

Giving back to veterans is an honor and a privilege for Vanessa Deskie, real estate agent with Richard A. Zuber Realty and member of Zuber Realty’s Community Outreach Committee, who coordinates the effort. Generations of her family members have served.

“Thanks to the generosity of the shoppers, we’ve routinely collected 10 or more grocery carts packed solid with items on their way to Veterans Making a Difference,” notes Jody Dolansky, chairwoman of Zuber Realty’s Community Outreach Committee. “We’re inspired each year to exceed our previous donations.” Donations of cash, checks, or gift cards are also accepted and encouraged.

“We’re inspired also by the assistance of Boyertown’s State Theatre that donates free screen advertising throughout June in support of veterans by encouraging folks to donate to our food drive,” notes Deskie.

“Plus, we appreciate any help that folks can provide by sharing information about the food drive,” she continues. “Social media has been a valuable tool to generate support for this effort.”

In recalling previous years, Bellantoni exclaims, “The Zuber bus was stuffed. It was really, really full! People came with entire bags of canned products.

“And what was most notable,” Bellantoni continues, “was that not all donations came from Redner’s shoppers; random folks stopped by the bus to donate.”

In July, donations will be delivered to the Veterans Making a Difference, a non-profit, headquartered at Veteran Social Center, 645 N. 6th Street, Reading, PA.
